Joining the Peer Connect Team

Are you looking for a way to get involved in campus life? Are you interested in student leadership opportunities? Are you passionate about campus and student life here at Laurier Brantford? If you answered yes to any one or all of these questions, then you should consider becoming a Peer Mentor!

What does a Peer Mentor do?

  • Hold regular office hours (approx. 3-5 hours/week) at the Peer Connect desk, where you will be accessible to Laurier Brantford students who have questions, want to buy tickets for campus events, or need assistance accessing resources and information on campus
  • Liaise with major student programming groups like WLUSU, Student Services, and Recreation to ensure that students are aware of programs that are offered all across campus
  • As a team, create, present, and facilitate skill development workshops, diversity-focused initiatives and certificate programs in partnership with the Brantford Student Affairs Coorindator and the Student Leadership Centre & Office for Student Diversity in Waterloo
  • Assist in the promotion of the Co-Curricular Record
  • Attend weekly staff meetings where Campus programming, marketing strategies, and leadership development will be discussed.

Potential applicants should expect to commit 4-5 hours per week to the Peer Connect program as a Peer Mentor.
