Birth Control

Birth Control Contraceptives are not covered under by the Student Extended Health Plan, however, some birth control pills, injections and condoms are available for purchase at Health Services. These are sold on a cost recovery basis and a prescription from a physician is required.  Once you have a prescription on file you can ask to see the information nurse durinig regular hours without an appointment to purchase contraceptives.

There are 2 methods of contraceptives, the hormonal method and the barrier method.


Hormonal Methods

- Oral contraception – The Pill

- Depo-Provera Injection

- The Vaginal Ring

- The Patch


Barrier Methods
- The Condom  - Vaginal Spermicide
Diaphragm Cervical Cap
Intrauterine Device (IUD) - Sponge
Sterilization - Withdrawal 
Calendar Method - Abstinence
