Want to be a Tutor?

If you are interested in becoming a tutor through the Tutor Referral Service, then read on for information about application, qualifications and resources available to help you succeed as a tutor.

The Tutor Application  is available online. Please complete the form and submit it through email to lbtutors@wlu.ca or in person to the ALC (Student Centre room 221) or WSSRC (Market Place).

To be accepted and listed as a tutor with the Tutor Referral Service, you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate student at Laurier Brantford
  • Have a minimum overall and major GPA of 7.0
  • Have taken the course you wish to tutor
  • Willing to be a part of the tutor database for at least the fall and winter semester

Questions to ask your tutee/Information for your tutee

  • What is the length of time that you will need tutoring?
  • How often will we meet?
  • Where and when will we meet?
  • What course(s) do you want help with?
  • How would you like me to help?
  • Who is your professor?
  • What textbook are you using?
  • Deadlines?
  • I prefer to be paid in cash at the start of the session/end of the session.
